As Catholics celebrated the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Thursday 15th August 2024,the chief Shepherd of Catholic faithfuls in Lagos Arch diocese. Most. Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins advised religious to be guided by the love of Christ in a world desperately in need of love like ours presently.
Addressing three Rev sisters of the institute of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus (EHJ) who took their final profession of vows at St Timothy Catholic Church,. Ojodu, the Arch Bishop stated that they should honour the example of Mary who is a perfect witness to the power of God’s grace and beauty of a life entirely dedicated to God.
He emphasized that the sisters namely, Sr. Mary Faith Kauna Michael, Sr. Mary Susan Eyeye Alobo and Sr. Pauline Saafan Saawuan should see Mary’s Assumption as a testament to the dignity and destiny given to her by God as a reward.
Speaking during his sermon, the Arch Bishop reiterated that the feast of Assumption is an invitation for all to follow the footsteps of the Blessed Virgin Mary by living a life of humility, simplicity and total surrender to God’s providence.

He stressed further, saying that it is essential for all to review our love for Christ through our devotion to Jesus while he urged the sisters to live out their vows in.totality and joy every single day of their lives.
However, the Arch bishop encouraged the sisters to be witnesses to the world that is filled with immorality and self interest urging them, to render service that will draw others towards the true fulfilment of the Christian devotion

Nevertheless, , Arch Bishop Adewale Martins urged the newly final proffessed sisters to strive to live a life of poverty, chastity and meekness to serve as reminder to all while he encouraged the religious present, to live a life dedicated to God because our commitment to God and fellow humans serves as a powerful testimony against the culture of self interest,and curruptoon around us.
