In a swift operation during he early hours of May 13, 2025, patrol officers of the Ketu Division made a successful arrest of Olayinka Oluwaseyi, a 28-year-old male suspect, while he attempted to rob on Mile 12 Bridge.
It was reported in a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer. CSP Benjamin Hundeyin that, the suspect was armed with two knives when found during the attempted robbery of a motorist, which took place at approximately 1:30 am.
According to the police report, Olayinka Oluwaseyi was a convict who had been released from prison three months prior to his crime for a similar offence. Currently, he’s in police custody, pending further investigation and subsequent arraignment.

Meanwhile, the Police disclosed that the successful arrest was attributed to the timely intervention of the patrol team. However, one accomplice involved in the attempted robbery remains at large, and the police are actively working to apprehend the individual.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has commended the vigilance and professionalism displayed by the officers of the Ketu Division and reiterated the Command’s firm stance against all forms of criminality, particularly traffic robbery.
He has assured Lagosians of the police’s readiness to tackle threats to resident safety. and also urged the public to remain alert and cooperate with the police by reporting suspicious movements of individuals.
Although investigations on the case is currently ongoing, further actions will be taken once the investigation is concluded.
