The Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dismantled a cybercrime training facility in Umuahia, Abia State, arresting a total of 23 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud. Among those apprehended were eight persons allegedly undergoing cybercrime training at the facility.
According to the EFCC, the centre—dubbed the ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Hustle Kingdom’—was operating within the Doofco Palace building, located behind Government College in Umuahia. The operation was carried out based on credible intelligence received by the Commission.
In an official statement issued on Friday, the EFCC confirmed: “Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Uyo Zonal Directorate, on Friday, July 18, 2025, uncovered a cybercrimes training centre known as ‘yahoo-yahoo Hustle Kingdom’ at Umuahia in Abia State, and arrested eight suspected trainees undergoing training and fifteen others.”
The eight individuals arrested at the centre include Toona Henry, Tavershima Solomon, Chi Orseer James, Ubee Benjamin, Gabriel Ibe Ifeanyi, Tindue Godwin, Muhammed Terwase Micheal, and Destiny Andrew.

In addition to the arrests at the training centre, EFCC operatives conducted follow-up operations in various parts of Umuahia—specifically at Umudike, Ahiaeke, and Umugu. These raids led to the arrest of 15 more suspects: Okezie Almond, Precious Osmond, Kenneth Prospect, Iweobi Chika Augustine, Nedolisa Victor, Kanu Austin, Anolu David, Collins Chinedu, Joshua Nnamdi, Ogechi Chibuzor, Michael Chinonso, Prince Chigozie, Festus Nwogu, Michael Lazarus, and Kingsley Ndubuisi.
The EFCC revealed that the arrests at the Doofco Palace building and the other locations in Umuahia were based on “credible intelligence,” reinforcing the agency’s ongoing effort to curb cybercrime across the country.
During the operation, several items were recovered as evidence, including two vehicles, 15 laptops, and 34 mobile phones. The Commission confirmed that all suspects will be charged to court following the conclusion of investigations.
