VDM ARREST REFUSAL TO CORPORATE LANDS HIM IN EFCC CUSTODY

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has exercised it’s mandate in curbing economic and financial crime by taking Martins Innocent Otse Popularly known as Very Dark Man (VDM) into custody following a series of petitions alleging financial malfeasance.

The commission stated that despite multiple invitations sent to his known addresses and communication channels, Otse had refused to cooperate with the Commission’s investigation.

The EFCC disclosed that the allegations against Otse are serious and cannot be ignored. In addition, the Commission obtained a remand order to hold Otse in custody and has since offered him administrative bail, which he can secure his release by fulfilling the necessary conditions.

In response to public interest in the case, the EFCC appreciates Nigerians and emphasized its commitment to carrying out its mandate without fear or favor. The Commission however assured the public that it will conclude its investigations and file charges accordingly.

The EFCC also addressed concerns about its motives, urging the public to allow the agency to perform its duties without insinuations or undue interference.
