NIMN elects Ibom Air’s Aniekan Essienette as pioneer chairman driving marketing excellence in Uyo chapter

Mrs. Aniekan Essienette, FNIMN, Group Manager, Marketing and Communications at Ibom Air, has been elected the pioneer Chairman of the newly inaugurated Uyo Chapter of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN). Her election was a major highlight of the 2025 Annual Marketing Conference and General Meeting (AMC/AGM) held recently in Uyo, which also marked the official inauguration of the chapter. She is to serve a two-year tenure.

The newly inaugurated executive council also includes Dr. Samuel Etuk as Vice Chairman, Dr. Ini Udoh as Secretary, Dr. Orok Imagha as Assistant Secretary, Mr. Aniekan Inwang as Financial Secretary, Dr. (Mrs.) Emem Akaninyene Sampson as Treasurer, Dr. Aniefiok Akpan as Welfare Officer, and Mr. Uwem Okon as Public Relations Officer (PRO).

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Essienette expressed profound gratitude to the President and members of the Council for their steadfast support in the establishment of the Uyo Chapter. She further committed to advancing the principles of the marketing profession and ensuring that the chapter becomes a vibrant center for innovation and excellence. She pledged to promote ethical leadership and foster collaborative efforts among members.

Presiding over the inauguration ceremony, the NIMN National President and Chairman of Council, Mr. Idoreyen Enang, commended the inauguration committee for their dedication and lauded the establishment of the Uyo Chapter as a significant milestone achieved under his leadership. He expressed optimism that the new chapter would play a crucial role in elevating professionalism and excellence in marketing practices across Akwa Ibom State.

The 2025 NIMN Annual Conference, which hosted the inauguration, was themed “Leveraging Environmental Social Governance (ESG) in Driving Value Across Generations,” highlighting the growing relevance of sustainability and governance in marketing strategies for the future.
