The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has made a passionate appeal to his congregation for substantial financial support, requesting donations in the billions and millions of naira to fund major church expansion projects.
This appeal, made during the church’s 73rd Annual Convention at Redemption City in Ogun State on Saturday, has since stirred widespread attention and debate among both church members and the general public. In a widely circulated video from the event, Pastor Adeboye specifically urged at least 10 members of the church to each donate ₦1 billion, while calling on another 100 members to contribute ₦100 million each.
“We have to build many more dormitories. For example, if you look at the choir’s altar, it was built to take 10,000 of them, but they have outgrown the altar, some of them are sitting on the floor and many times, the camera does not cover them,” Adeboye said, highlighting the urgent need for infrastructural upgrades within the growing church community.

The revered cleric went on to outline some of the critical areas requiring immediate attention. “We have to enlarge the altar before December. Also, our water system that has served us for over 20 years, we will need to upgrade power supply as we expand our dormitories, sewage systems. We have a lot of projects to complete before December.”
Reiterating the scale of the financial support needed, he added, “I need at least 10 of my children who can give me at least one billion naira each, and I need 100 of my children who can give me a hundred million naira each.”
This call for donations comes shortly after Adeboye made headlines for a personal revelation about the circumstances of his passing. According to multiple online reports, he recently shared a vision of how he believes his death will occur—peacefully, on a Sunday, after attending church service and eating his favourite meal, pounded yam.
The dual announcements—his substantial fundraising appeal and his striking prophecy—have both continued to generate widespread discussion among followers and observers of the prominent Pentecostal leader.
