
Officers of the Lagos state police command have swiftly responded to a distress call and recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla Salon car from two suspected armed robbers who have been arrested.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 26,2025 in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State at about 2am . The suspects, Olayinka Bakare, 34, and Udeh Michael, 50, allegedly robbed an individual of his car, laptops, and phone.
Following a tipoff from the car owner, the police quickly drafted and dispatched a team to pursue the robbers. The prompt response led to the arrest of the two suspects, while one of the suspect escaped.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has commended the officers involved in the operation for their ‘ fast response time and swift arrest.”
The CP has directed that the officers be brought to the Command Headquarters for commendation and appreciation.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Yaba for further investigation, with the aim of arresting other members of the robbery gang and also, recovering the remaining stolen items.
CP Jimoh used the opportunity to warn criminals in Lagos State to leave the state or face the full weight of the law.
