A 57-year-old man, Agbaraojo Wasiu has been remanded at the kirikiri prison in Lagos for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl. On the 18th of February 2025 at about 3:30pm, the case was transferred from the office of Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) to Gender unit Lagos state command through a referral letter from the DSVA to the office of the commissioner of police Lagos state command.
According to reports, the incident occurred on the 4th of February of 2025, at Magbon Alade, Ibeju Lekki where the suspect and victim reside.
The victim’s grandmother reported the case to the Lagos state police Command’s Gender Unit, alleging that the suspect had threatened her granddaughter not to reveal the incident to anyone or face death.
The suspect, Agbaraojo was arraigned at Ebute meta magistrate court in Oyingbo on the 3rd of March 2025 and was remanded at Kirikiri prison. The case was adjourned till the 9th of April 2025.
