The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has officially set July 12, 2025, as the date for the highly anticipated local government elections across the state. This announcement, made by LASIEC’s Head of Public Affairs, Tope Ojo, marks the commencement of the electoral process for the 57 council chairmanship positions and 376 councillorship seats spread across Lagos’ 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
