Lagos Okada Ban

The Lagos state authorities carried out a successful operation on commercial Motorcycle riders on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

According to reports, the Commercial motorcycles popularly known as Okada were impounded in a continued effort to enforce the ban on riding along highways and restricted routes.

The enforcement team which started operation around 11.00am yesterday, visited several areas including Berger Suya, Kirikiri Road, 2nd Rainbow Bridge and Apple Junction inward Festac.

During the operation, a total of 79 commercial motorcycles were impounded with the exercise conducted in a civil and professional manner.

However, there was a brief moment of resistance at Berger Suya, which was quickly brought under control by the authorities using minimal force and tactical superiority.

Nevertheless, the enforcement operation is part of the state government’s efforts to ensure the safety and security of residents, as well as to maintain order and discipline on the roads.
