Lagos Police Foil Robbery Attempt in Ajegunle, Arrest Two Suspects

The Lagos State Police Command has successfully foiled a robbery attempt along Layeni Ojo Road in Ajegunle, resulting in the arrest of two suspects in the early hours of 28th April 2025. The arrest was made at approximately 6:30 AM following a series of public complaints about rising armed robbery incidents in the area.

The suspects, identified as Azeez Anofi, a 25-year-old male known as Stainless, and Damilare Obadia, also 25 years old, were apprehended by officers from the Layeni Division while attempting to snatch a tricycle, locally known as Keke Marwa. The police swiftly responded to the situation, ensuring that the suspects were detained without further incident.

Upon arrest, the police recovered a locally made pistol along with one expended cartridge from the suspects. The authorities have initiated further investigations to apprehend other individuals connected to the robbery attempt and to recover any additional weapons used in their criminal activities.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, praised the officers for their swift and effective action in preventing the robbery. He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police, ensuring that appropriate measures can be taken to maintain safety in the community.
