In a decisive move to combat the growing menace of cultism, the Lagos State Police Command has officially deployed specialized Anti-Cultism Squads across all Area Commands within the state. This initiative aims to enhance the state’s capacity to swiftly and effectively respond to cult-related incidents.

It was reported in a statement signed 15th July 2025, by the state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, that the newly established squads have been equipped with the necessary tools and training to conduct surveillance, respond promptly to distress calls, apprehend suspects involved in cult activities, and collaborate closely with local communities to dismantle cultism networks operating within Lagos.
