The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the Lagos State Police Command has arrested four individuals linked to a massive visa scam involving the fraudulent collection of ₦500 million. The suspects—Blessing Wefsutu (27), Chineye Christian (36), Archibong Udeme Ifereke (23), and Maurine Peter (25)—are all staff members of an educational consultancy based in Ago Okota.
The case was initially reported at the Ago Okota Police Division before being transferred to the SCID for a more in-depth investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that the suspects deceived over 100 victims by promising to secure Canadian and Australian work visas. Through these false assurances, the syndicate managed to defraud their victims of a total of ₦500 million.

Further investigations have uncovered that the four arrested suspects are part of a larger criminal network, with additional accomplices still at large. The police are actively pursuing these individuals to ensure they face justice once the investigation is concluded.
Commissioner of Police for Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has urged the public to exercise caution when dealing with travel and recruitment agencies.
