Re-inventing the Zinox brand was the focus of staff and Management of Zinox Technologies Limited as the company converged on the impressive Renaissance Hotel, GRA Ikeja on Saturday March 11th and Sunday March 12th for a two-day Management Retreat to take stock and strategize for the new financial year – ‘FY 18. The event also afforded the company an opportunity to review the performances for the current financial year – ‘FY 17 set to end on March 31st 2017.
Earlier on Saturday March, the Management of Zinox and the respective companies in the Group had gathered in the Kez Auditorium at the Zinox Headquarters in Gbagada for the monthly Management Performance Review (MPR) session for the month of February.
A few top Management Executives of Yudala had also been invited to take part in the MPR.
The event kicked off with a presentation on customer service delivered by Mrs. Judith Ugwu of Yudala. In a delivery which focused on service culture, she charged the staff to pay more attention to grooming and personal appearance, work in better synergy with colleagues, communicate more effectively, manage time and eliminate bad attitudes. According to her, customer service was the responsibility of the entire company and not just a departmental function.
Her lecture was followed immediately by a highly inspirational session anchored by Mr. Roosevelt Ogbonna, Executive Director, Commercial Banking at Access Bank. Drawing extensively from the books – Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap… and Others Don’t by Jim Collins and by Steven Covey; Mr. Ogbonna counseled all on the need to embrace the lessons from both books in delivering great work and consistently adding value to the organization at all times. Emphasizing virtues such as discipline, hard work and a positive attitude, he disclosed that disciplined people generate disciplined thoughts which in turn leads to disciplined actions which make an institution great. The guest speaker encouraged participants to prioritize, synergize, adapt to professional discipline and remain humble at all times. In his summation, the blend of extreme humility and professional ethic and willpower is a requisite ingredient to achieving greatness.
Mr. Ogbonna’s presentation opened the way for the presentation of performance figures by the respective companies – Task Systems, Zinox Technologies, Technology Distributions Ltd., and TD Plus.
Members of staff at Ghana, Abuja and Port-Harcourt were also in attendance via telepresence.
While speaking at the MPR, the Group Chairman, Leo Stan Ekeh commended the staff for the current financial year which, in spite of the challenges and average figures recorded, provides an opportunity to build and consolidate on. While thanking God most especially for the gift of life as no human casualty was recorded, the Chairman encouraged participants to maintain professional standards at all times, embrace good service delivery etiquettes and unrivaled respect to customers at all times. He further charged all staff to remain humble and honest as it is the only way they can change their story and be better in their various life endeavours.
Dressed in their branded attire, Management and staff of Zinox Technologies and TD had moved from the MPR to The Renaissance Hotel – Ikeja, venue of the two-day retreat. Executive Director, Zinox Technologies, Mrs. Kelechi Eze-Okonta in her felicitation, welcomed staff and set the ball rolling with the theme for FY18: “Pragmatic Impact – Stimulating growth, restoring confidence”.
As part of the re-invention plans, the new Zinox website designed by Mr. AbimbolaOmotosho was reviewed for further inputs and adjustments ahead of the official launch.
Upcoming products designs such as mobile phones, 10KW output inverter, Tubular gel battery, glass panels, higher efficiency solar panels, solar tiles and laptop upgrades were displayed by Mr. OnochieEche-Chukwuma of the Sales department. On her part, Head, Human Resources, Mrs. Chioma Nwoke also delivered a presentation on the organizational structure And corporate governance after which the FYI8 budget was presented .
