Reports has it that gunmen on Saturday afternoon attacked the Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom.
According to reports, the attack happened at Tyo Mu along Makurdi/Gboko road in Makurdi Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Ortom was said to be on his way to Makurdi when the gunmen opened fire on his convoy but were repelled by his security men.
According to sources close to the governor, “herdsmen numbering 15 attackers trailed the governor to the river bank where he was on foot inspecting a farm.
