A tragic incident unfolded on the night of March 8, 2025, when a group of armed men stormed a hotel along Community Road, Abule-Ado. The assailants targeted the DJ performing on stage, shooting him and inflicting multiple machete wounds before fleeing the scene.
Promptly responding to the attack, police operatives launched a pursuit as the suspects attempted to escape into Festac. With the assistance of local vigilantes, security forces successfully apprehended one of the attackers, identified as Christian Chukwudi, also known as “Marshall General,” a 35-year-old notorious robber and suspected cultist who has been terrorizing the area.
During the arrest, authorities recovered a locally fabricated shotgun along with one live cartridge. Another live cartridge was found at the hotel premises. Preliminary investigations suggest that Chukwudi is a prominent member of a cult group responsible for violent activities in the region.
The victim, identified as 32-year-old Victor Dickson, was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. His body has been photographed and deposited at the General Hospital Yaba Morgue.
Further investigations are ongoing, and the arrested suspect, along with the recovered exhibits, will be transferred to the appropriate authorities for case consolidation. Law enforcement officials assure the public that efforts are being intensified to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the attack.
