Police Arrest Man for Stealing Neighbor’s Car in Lagos

Operatives from the Ebute Ero Division have apprehended Jackson Abraham, a male suspect, who was found in possession of a stolen vehicle during a routine surveillance patrol. The vehicle, a Mitsubishi Space in ash color, was intercepted by patrol officers acting on reasonable suspicion. This was revealed in a statement signed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, anipr,  mipra, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ikeja, today 21st of May.

According to preliminary investigations, the suspect is alleged to have removed the vehicle from a park in Ogun State without the consent of the rightful owner. Interestingly, the vehicle’s owner resides at the same address as the suspect. Following the interception, the vehicle was recovered intact and has been taken to the police station for further processing.

The rightful owner, who had reported the car missing in Ogun State, has been contacted and is fully cooperating with ongoing investigations. Authorities are currently making arrangements to transfer both the suspect and the recovered vehicle to the Ogun State Police Command, where the case was originally reported and is under investigation.

The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to addressing vehicle theft and ensuring public safety. He urged residents to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities, emphasizing that public cooperation is crucial to successful crime prevention and recovery efforts.
