The Lagos State Police Command has acknowledged a viral video circulating on social media in which a mother expresses her concern over her missing son. The Command wishes to express deep concerns over the missing young man, Master Ovie Kehinde, and wish to reassure the mother, the general public and all Lagosians, that every necessary action is being taken to locate him and reunite him unhurt with his family.
According to a statement signed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, anipr, mipra, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ikeja, 9th of June, 2025, the Command has activated all relevant investigative teams including the special tactical squads of the Command and all Police Divisions and Area Commands throughout Lagos State and those of other Police Commands contiguous to the state to ensure that the missing young man is returned back safe to his family.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, before now had directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba to take over the case and carry out a discreet investigation into the matter to ensure that the missing person is found.
The Command wishes to implore anyone with credible information that could assist in further investigation of the case to come forward and get across to the Public Relations Officer of the Command or contact the nearest police station.
The Lagos State Police Command remains steadfast in its mandate to protect lives and property and will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safe return of the missing person.
