Lagos Police Adjusts Vehicular Movement Restriction for July 12 Local Government Elections

The Lagos State Police Command has announced a revision to the previously scheduled restriction on vehicular and waterways movement for the upcoming Local Government Elections, set to take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025. The elections will be held across all 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State.

According to a statement by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, anipr,  mipra, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ikeja, 10th of July, 2025, the adjustment was made to ease challenges faced by residents with critical medical emergencies, essential appointments, and international travel commitments. As a result, the restriction will now begin at 6:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM on the day of the election. This is a change from the earlier announcement which had slated the start of the restriction at 3:00 AM.

Lagos Police Urges Cooperation and Vigilance Ahead of July 12 Elections

The Lagos State Police Command has urged the general public to take note of the revised timing and to cooperate fully with law enforcement officers and electoral officials. Residents are reminded to plan their movements accordingly and to comply with the new directives in the interest of public safety and smooth electoral proceedings.
