Tactical operatives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight individuals suspected of involvement in a series of cult-related killings around the Yaba College of Technology and its neighboring areas. According to a statement signed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, anipr, mipra, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, today 30th April 2025, the arrests were made following an intelligence-led operation on April 29, 2025.
The suspects arrested during the operation include Adeyemo Abdulsamad (aged 24), also known as Cloud; Afeez Enitan (aged 28); Ayomide Daniel (aged 30); Olamilekan Adeagbo (aged 26), also known as Skinny; Mayor Samson (aged 28); Basit Ishola (aged 20); Quadri Sikiru (aged 26); and Mariam Salihu (aged 23).
Weapons Seized and Investigation Ongoing in Cult-Related Killings Operation
During the operation, law enforcement officials recovered a range of dangerous weapons from the suspects, including one Beretta pistol, four 9mm ammunition, one cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses. These findings underscore the seriousness of the ongoing investigation.
The police have emphasized that investigations are still underway to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in cult-related activities. Authorities are committed to holding the suspects accountable and ensuring they face the full force of the law.
In a statement, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the swift action of the Command’s tactical teams and the Eko Strike Force, who led the operation. He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The Commissioner reassured the public that the police will continue to work tirelessly to safeguard the safety and security of all residents and visitors to Lagos State.
