In a sustained effort to rid Lagos State of criminal elements, operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended eight suspected cultists and armed robbers during a targeted operation in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
According to a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, anipr, mipra, the suspects were arrested in the early hours of October 15, 2025, following credible intelligence that led the Bullock Tactical Team to storm a criminal hideout at about 5:30 a.m. “Eight suspects, who were allegedly planning nefarious activities, were apprehended,” the statement read. Those arrested include Fadiya Ayodele (27), Lawal Rasheed (28), Akerele Demilare (27), Alimi Victor (23), Okiki Alufoge (25), Nurudeen Dolapo (25), Agboola Samuel (25), and Ayolade Victor (25).
Items recovered from the scene, according to the police, include a Nigerian military camouflage uniform, a battle axe, an assault dagger, several charms, and counterfeit $100 bills totaling $3,000.
Police Reaffirm Commitment to Safety, Vow to Apprehend Fleeing Suspect
During preliminary interrogation, one of the suspects, Fadiya Ayodele, reportedly confessed to being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the area. He further disclosed that he had previously handed over a locally made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently at large. “Efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspect and recover the firearm,” SP Adebisi added.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the operatives for their professionalism and swift response during the raid. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring safety and peace across Lagos State. “The Lagos State Police Command remains resolute in its determination to make the state safe and secure for all residents,” CP Jimoh stated.
The Police spokesperson concluded by assuring residents that similar intelligence-driven operations would continue as part of the Command’s proactive strategy to dismantle criminal networks in the state.
