The Lagos State Police Command is in mourning following the sudden passing of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Festac Division, CSP Matilda Ngbaronye.
It was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer. SP Abimbola Adebisi, October 25, 2025, that she died after undergoing surgery at Mayriamville Medical Centre in Surulere, Lagos State on Friday, the 24th of October 2025
The Command described CSP Ngbaronye as an upright and dedicated officer who served with unwavering professionalism and integrity. Her friendly disposition and humane approach to policing earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the public.
Police Command, Family Mourn Ngbaronye’s Passing
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, and all officers and men of the Command have extended their condolences to the family and aged mother of the deceased. The CP has also personally reached out to her husband and elder brother, a priest, to offer his heartfelt condolences and support during this difficult time.
CSP Ngbaronye was known for her diligence, discipline, and commitment to duty, and her passing has come as a shock to the entire Command. The Lagos State Police Command described her as a bridge between the Police and the public, and her loss will be deeply felt.
The burial arrangements will be communicated in due course. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
