An incident of kidnapping occurred in Ijede community on March 26, 2025. It was reported that the incident happened at approximately 9.00 p.m. when the kidnappers invaded the area. The victims namely, Dare, a male, aged 40 and Taiwo, female, aged 25 were picked from their respective homes after the kidnappers forcefully gained entry and killed a security dog.
Upon receiving the report, police operatives were promptly mobilized to the scene initiating efforts to rescue the victims and apprehended the suspects. The area was placed under close surveillance
As a follow up, it was further disclosed and confirmed that the kidnapped victims were rescued on March 29, 2025, at approximately 11:56 p.m. through the collaborative efforts of the police, the Joint Task Force, and other stakeholders. The victims were found unharmed and reunited with their families.
Currently, the area remains relatively calm, with ongoing efforts to arrest the suspects. Further developments will be communicated as more information becomes available.
