Pakistani's Kidnap

The arrest of two Pakistani nationals, Roman Gull, and Afab Ahmad for alleged involvement in kidnapping ring has been announced by the Lagos State Police Command.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the arrest was made possible by a distress call received at the Ikeja Division of the State command on Wednesday, March 05, 2025.

The victim, a Pakistani national, aged 48 was allegedly lured to Lagos from Kano by the suspects, aged 19 and 28 claiming to offer him a job as chef. They booked the victims flight to Lagos and lodged him in a hotel on February 28, 2025 where his hands and legs were tied while they overpowered him the following day.

It was further reported that the suspects then demanded a ransom of N50 million from the victim’s employer in Kano. The Police were able to rescue the victim and arrested two of the suspects, while five others escaped.

However, the Police have recovered the suspects’ operational vehicle, as well as the victim’s personal belongings, including $2,000 cash, three ATM cards, a green card, driver’s license, and NIN slip.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has commended the officers and men of Ikeja Division for their efforts and assured residents and visitors in Lagos of the Command’s commitment to their safety and security.
The suspects are currently in Police custody, and efforts are being made to arrest the fleeing suspects.

Investigation is still ongoing, and the suspects will be arraigned in court upon completion of the investigation.
