Lagos Warns Motorists as Speed-Related Crashes Rise
Reacting to the incident, the LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, lamented the rising incidence of speed-related crashes across the state and wished the injured victims a speedy recovery.
Bakare-Oki, through Taofiq, warned motorists against excessive speeding and operating mechanically deficient vehicles.
“He stressed the imperative for drivers to remain perpetually safety-conscious, moderate their speed, and anticipate unforeseen mechanical failures, noting that prudence, vigilance, and strict adherence to traffic regulations constitute the most reliable safeguard against preventable tragedies.
“LASTMA once again calls on all road users to embrace a responsible driving culture, prioritise routine vehicle maintenance, and cooperate fully with traffic regulatory authorities in the collective quest to entrench safer, more orderly, and accident-free roadways across Lagos State,” Taofiq concluded.
