Enugu State Cultural Carnival 2025: A Historic Celebration of Tradition, Unity, and Leadership

This event happened Yesterday on the 25th of April 2025, Omoh no be small events oo because different different politicians come oo and no be small thing happen for that yesterday, make I take you into the main story.

It all began in the morning when they woke me up by 4: am and asked that we go to the Market to get something, things to prepare food for the event, as I hear am nah once my eyes open and I ask am wait oo, Una never buy wetin we go use do Cultural Carnival by wey be today, she con dey cry for phone say them no see money so no be say them no one buy am, omoh nah once I just wake, pray, baff.

By 6 I was on my way to her place, we went to Ogige Market to get things for the food, but we were delayed because most of the shops we wanted to get something from had not yet Opened. Anyways we got everything we needed for the food preparation by 11, Omoh and events that was supposed to hold by 10 and we never cook, everybody was just praying and hoping the Event will go well…

Cultural Carnival Preparations: A Taste of Tradition and the Abacha Mastery

We were called by 11:10 that Prof Barth Nnaji who was the Former two times minster of power, our chairman of the occasion was already there, omoh nah once everybody just dey rush, then we were told that His Excellency Barr. Peter Ndubisu MBA who was the Father of the day could not make it but he sent a representative who was already there and waiting already. Then we were told that many local government chairmen too were already coming and those of them that could not make it either sent an apology or sent a representative.

The cooking began in Ernest, this is the part I love talking about the most, I was made to Make Abacha for the first time in my Life, it looks funny but eh no funny, I don’t really like Abacha nor Eat it oo but omoh eh, that yesterday, the girl was like Put your head on the fire and learn Juli, I can’t do two things at the same time and I started doing what I did not know how to do o

Then before I knew what was happening, I was already doing this Abacha and I made my First Abacha and someone came to taste it and it was very nice, omoh nah so pride wear me Agbada oo and I was like make Una just wait, I go soon open Abacha Restaurant.

We prepared Ofe Egusi and soon we turned garri and put it inside the takeaway, we provided Abacha 300 take away and garri 150 piece and soon when they were welcoming and calling on the excos of Enugu state, nah once all of us rush enter shuttle dey come the event oo.

Cultural Carnival Highlights: Traditional Weddings, Masquerades, and Royal Coronations

Then there was a Fake Traditional wedding and I was the Bride’s Mother, they said I should go and call my daughter and I no really Sabi praise woman for igbo omoh nah so I start once oo and before you know it I was feeling so proud of myself and my daughter came out, we give am wine make she go find her husband which she did omoh it was an event worthwhile.

Masquerades came, danced and performed, omoh no be small thing happen that yesterday oo, and then everybody was giving in their best to make sure the event was a successful one, then it came to coronating the Ohaneze Council UNN. Which I am also a member (I think that explains the Nzu that was rubbed in the Corner of my eyes that is to show that I am the eyes of the gods of my department, but I wasn’t in my full regila because I was very busy and I’m an exco and a planning committee member in Enugu state)

They coronated, Ada, Ugobeze, Lolo, Igwe of Enugu state which will form the royal council. It was indeed a great event and then Magazine Launch was done, some senators and guest that was present supported the events with some money and left, Food was shared, drinks were shared, and it was a great event, the event came to an end at exactly 6:21PM. It was a successful one and Everyone went home with happiness in their faces
