Barely a few hours after dumping the Peoples Democratic Party, former two-term Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, is in discussion with the leaders of the New Nigerian Peoples Party with a view to joining it, PRNigeria has gathered.
Obi, a leading aspirant in the 2023 presidential election, had resigned his membership of the PDP on Wednesday.
Obi’s decision to quit the PDP was first conveyed to the Chairman of Aguta Ward 2, Anambra Local Government Area, Anambra State on May 20, 2022.
His official resignation from the main opposition party at the federal level was contained in a letter addressed to the party’s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, which Politics Digest obtained.
Credible sources hinted Politics Digest, a publication of PRNigeria, that the former Anambra State Governor has been pencilled down to become the running mate of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, if his eventual defection into the party sail through.
