The Lagos State Police Command has served an official police invitation letter on Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, directing him to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti. The invitation requires the Pastor to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC SCID), Panti, by 10:00 a.m. prompt on Monday, 5th January, 2026.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, Pastor Chris Okafor was invited in connection with allegations bordering on multiple rape, other sexual offences, and several conducts likely to cause a breach of public peace and a breakdown of law and order within the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCID to conduct a thorough investigation into the numerous criminal allegations made against the Pastor. The Police confirmed that Pastor Chris Okafor was duly served with the invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to cooperate fully with officers of the Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, as investigations into the alleged capital offences and other serious crimes commence.
Lagos Police Vow Transparent, Unbiased Investigation
In furtherance of the investigation, CP Olohundare Jimoh has ordered immediate and full security coverage and protection for the alleged victims. The Commissioner has also encouraged victims to come forward without fear to report at the Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, where investigations into the alleged criminal acts against the Pastor are already underway.
The Police Command assured that the identities of all victims will be kept absolutely confidential and fully protected. Individuals who may have fallen victim to the alleged actions of the Pastor have been urged to come forward to formally lodge their complaints. Additionally, members of the public who possess credible information or evidence relevant to the investigation have been encouraged to assist the Police without fear or apprehension. Such individuals may contact the SCID through the Police Public Relations Department at the Lagos State Police Command or report directly at the SCID, Panti.
The Commissioner of Police further reiterated that the identities of all victims and witnesses will be adequately safeguarded and emphasized that the investigation will be conducted in a professional, transparent, and unbiased manner, strictly in line with the laws of the land.
The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to the maintenance of law and order, public peace, and safety, stressing that all allegations of criminal conduct against any individual, regardless of status or position, will be discreetly and thoroughly investigated according to law. The Command stated that no sentiment will be allowed to influence the process and that justice must prevail in the matter.
