
Residents of Iponri housing Estate have been living in fear due to the alleged constant harassment, intimidation, and physical attacks by one of their neighbors, Mr. Bolaji Munsedeeq Gbajabiamila.
According to a press statement issued on the 5th of May, 2025, by the Community Development Association (CDA) of the estate, one Mr. Gbajabiamila of block 169, Iponri Estate has been using his perceived influence, courtesy of his surname, to bully and threaten residents living within the housing Estate as well as disrupting the peace of the neighborhood.
The CDA has called on the Executive Chairman of Surulere Local Government, Honourable Sulaiman Bamidele Yusuf; the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide O. Sanwo-olu; and Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, to intervene in the matter.
They stressed on some of the alleged excesses of Mr. Gbajabiamila which includes, Name-dropping to intimidate and harras residents, despite being reported to the police severally and refusing to honour invitations.
Physically and verbally attacking CDA executive members who attempt to intervene. Blocking one of the entrances to Zone C of Iponri housing estate with his car, preventing residents within the axis from accessing their blocks by car.
Unleashing his dogs sometimes on residents who walk pass his block, with one incident resulting in a child being bitten twice during an interval of 7days.
The CDA has expressed their frustration over the situation, stating that residents occupying about 1,044 blocks have been living in great fear for too long. As such, they are seeking urgent intervention from the authorities to restore peace in the estate.
In essence, the residents are appealing for a sane environment, where they can live without fear of harassment and intimidation.
