Celebrating National Police Week 2025: Strengthening Security and Community Partnerships in Lagos

Lagos State police operatives have arrested six suspected members of a criminal syndicate notorious for robbing victims of their valuables, including cash (both Nigerian and foreign currencies), jewelry, mobile phones, ATM cards, and international passports. The arrest followed an intelligence report received by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.

Acting on the intelligence, armed detectives were mobilized on March 14, 2025, to track the suspects. Their efforts led to the apprehension of some members of the syndicate at the Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos. The arrested suspects have been identified as Idowu Ajewole (male), Waheed Opeyemi (male), Samuel Bamidele (male), Ajoke Oluwaseun (female), Layide Ogunseun (female), and Adetipe Olubunmi (male).

During the operation, two Toyota Camry vehicles were recovered from the suspects, along with fake dollar notes. The police have confirmed that all six suspects have provided useful statements during interrogation and remain in custody.

Authorities have assured that the suspects will be charged to court in due course as investigations continue.
