In a swift Operation, officers of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested four suspected members of a violent criminal gang linked to recent killings, armed robbery, and cult-related activities in the Ajah, Sangotedo and Ibeju-Lekki areas of Lagos State.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, anipr, mipra on 12th August, 2026, the Command revealed that they recovered three locally made pistols, one live ammunition,two battle axes, and a Point of Sale, POS, machine believed to have been snatched from victims during robberies during the intelligence-led operation.
The Command disclosed that the arrests followed sustained follow-up activities connected to an earlier robbery case reported in the Ajah axis. The suspects arrested are:
Kareem Abiodun, male, 26 years ,Tansiru Emmanuel, male, 29 years,Lateef Usman, male, 28 years, Alashe Azeez, male, 32 years.
According to preliminary investigations, the gang has been terrorizing residents and commuters around Ajah, Sangotedo, and Ibeju-Lekki, with links to recent robbery attacks and killings in the area.”The suspects made confessional statements regarding their involvement in armed robbery, murder and cultism,” the statement said.

The Command said the four suspects are currently in custody and are assisting detectives with ongoing investigations while efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the gang and to recover additional exhibits believed to be in their possession. Upon conclusion of investigations, the suspects will be charged to court.
Police Vow More Raids, Warn Criminals
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, commended the operatives for their diligence and sustained follow-up that led to the arrests.
He directed officers to maintain the momentum and intensify intelligence-led operations across the state towards apprehending members of the gang and possibly recover other exhibits in their possession.
“CP Fatai warned cultists, armed robbers, and other violent criminals that the Command will continue to deploy proactive strategies to track down and bring perpetrators to justice,” SP Adebisi stated.
The Lagos State Police Command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to enable prompt police response.
