
The Lagos State Police Command has announced a series of successful operations conducted in the metropolis over the past few weeks, resulting in minimized crime rates and several arrests. According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Command PRO, the police have been conducting weekly operations to foil criminal and cultist activities, leading to successful investigations.
Some notable cases include:
Foiled Robbery Attempt: On patrol along Governor’s Road in Ikotun, police intercepted three individuals attempting to rob a passerby and One suspect, Chukwunonso Henry, 29, was arrested with a toy pistol.
Traffic Robbery Arrest: On February 26, police arrested Suleiman Useni, 22, one of four armed hoodlums using unregistered motorcycles to rob motorists on Mile Bridge. Efforts are being made to arrest the remaining suspects.
Hundeyin reported that the police have recovered several items, including an operational motorcycle, two cutlasses, and two knives.
He mentioned also a case of defilement involving a 35-year-old man, Joel Chukwuemeka who was accused of defiling his 15-year-old sister in-law in Isolo area of Lagos state. The culprit was arrested and handed over to the Command Gender unit.
As emphasis, he reported also that on March 7th, 2025, they rescued some kidnapped victims in a coordinated operation by anti-kidnapping and counter kidnapping unit. He revealed that other cases like the kidnap of a Pakistani national was successfully handled.
However, CSP Hundeyin assures citizens on the command’s commitment to minimizing traffic robbery in the state.
He ended by stating that the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh expresses his profound gratitude to the Governor and the state government for their immedicable support in the provision of patrol vehicles and other logistics which has made their operations successful
