Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has celebrated Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, the Baba Adini of Yorubaland and Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on his 90th birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued on October 13, 2026, the governor described the elder statesman as a man of integrity, loyalty and wisdom whose contributions to politics and governance have earned him widespread respect.
Sanwo-Olu, who also identified Prince Olusi as the Atobatele of Ekiti, praised his patience, diplomatic approach to resolving disagreements and ability to offer valuable guidance on political matters.
Reflecting on their relationship, the governor acknowledged the significant role Olusi has played in his political journey, describing him as a father figure whose advice has helped him navigate the complexities of leadership and governance in Lagos State.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the nonagenarian has consistently offered counsel while maintaining respect for the responsibilities attached to the governor’s office.
He also highlighted Olusi’s extensive knowledge of Lagos and the political history of Nigeria’s Western Region, noting that the elder statesman remains a valuable source of historical insight.
The governor recalled Olusi’s ability to recount events and political decisions spanning different eras, from the Action Group led by the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo to the current democratic dispensation.
Beyond his wealth of experience, Sanwo-Olu described the celebrant as a committed party loyalist who strongly upholds the principle of party supremacy. He noted that Olusi consistently advocates respect for party decisions as a foundation for political unity and continuity.
As Prince Olusi marks the milestone birthday, the governor offered prayers for his continued good health and longevity, while extending birthday wishes on behalf of his family and the people of Lagos State.
Sanwo-Olu’s message celebrated not only Olusi’s 90 years of life but also his enduring influence as a political adviser, elder statesman and and custodian of historical knowledge.
