MIIA - 5th Free Online Media Training

The Media Integrity Initiative Africa (MIIA) has announced its 5th Free Online Media Training Series for May 2026, inviting media and communication professionals across Nigeria and beyond to participate in the two-day virtual programme aimed at strengthening ethical standards and practical skills in the industry.

According to the invitation by, coordinator of Media Integrity Initiative Africa, Femi Akintunde-Johnson, the training is designed to provide participants with “practical skills, ethical grounding and strategic insight for today’s rapidly evolving media landscape.”

The training sessions are scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 16, and Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. West Africa Time (WAT), and will be conducted virtually via Zoom.

On Day One of the programme, participants will engage in sessions on “Media Regulation in Nigeria: How Ethical Codification and Co-Regulation Can Boost Professionalism, and Impact the Bottom Line,” to be facilitated by Lanre Ìdòwú, alongside a presentation on Crisis Communication and Management by Alex Ogundadegbe.

The second day will feature discussions on Corporate Social Responsibility and Media Engagement, to be handled by Ohi Alegbe, while Olumide Iyanda will lead participants through a session titled “Mastering the Art of Interview Across Media Platforms.”

The initiative stated that participation in the training is entirely free but stressed that registration is compulsory for all intending participants.
