The Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khan Salihu, who until his passing served as the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Finance and Administration at the Command headquarters. He died on Monday, 15th June 2026.
In a statement issued by the Command, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, anipr, mipra, described the late senior officer as a “highly dedicated, disciplined, and committed” member of the Nigeria Police Force, who served with exceptional professionalism, loyalty, and integrity throughout his career.
The Command noted that DCP Salihu’s death came as a profound shock to officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command. It added that he consistently demonstrated diligence, exemplary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to duty, while his administrative expertise significantly improved operational efficiency within the Command.
According to the statement, “his wealth of experience, administrative acumen, and invaluable contributions greatly enhanced the effective management and operational efficiency of the Lagos State Police Command.”
Lagos Police Pay Tribute to Khan Salihu
The Commissioner of Police, of the State’s Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, psc, mnips, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones of the deceased, describing the loss as painful and deeply felt across the Command.
The Command prayed for divine comfort for the bereaved family, asking that Almighty God grants them the strength to bear the irreparable loss and grants the departed officer eternal rest.
It further stated that DCP Khan Salihu “will be fondly remembered for his dedication, humility, professionalism, and selfless service to the nation and the Nigeria Police Force,” adding that his legacy of service would continue to inspire serving officers.
“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded.
