Lagos Police Foil Threat to Ikeja Schools in Swift, Intelligence-Led Operation

The Lagos State Police Command has assured residents of their safety following reports of an alleged plan by some youths in the Oworonshoki area to disrupt activities on the Third Mainland Bridge.

In a statement issued on Monday, October 27, 2025, the Command said it was aware of the circulating information and had taken proactive steps to ensure peace and security across the state.

“The Command wishes to assure the public that adequate security measures have been put in place to maintain law and order across the state,” the statement read.

Police Reaffirm Commitment to Safety and Public Cooperation

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi (anipr, mipra), who signed the statement on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, noted that officers have been fully deployed to safeguard road users and prevent any form of obstruction or breach of the peace.

“Our officers are fully deployed to ensure the safety of all road users and to prevent any form of obstruction or breach of the peace,” Adebisi stated, urging residents to go about their lawful activities without fear.

The Command further appealed to members of the public to cooperate with security personnel as they carry out their duties, emphasizing that law enforcement efforts are geared towards the protection of lives and property.

Reaffirming its commitment, the police assured that “the Command remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting lives and property, and to ensuring the free flow of traffic across Lagos State.”
